Gratitude Note
First of all, Thank you for giving me this beautiful opportunity to revisit and share my childhood memories in this school. I would like to thank my school not only for the life lessons it taught me, but also for the most beautiful memories that were created here.
I believe that the person I am today was largely shaped by this school – both in terms of skills and discipline. I would like to use this opportunity to thank everyone who played a role in my journey: my teachers, Principal, Director sir and Correspondent mam, my friends, and everyone who was part of my school life. I found my inspiration and some of my best mentors in my teachers here.
Memories That Never Fade
From KG to 10th standard, every classroom, the playground, the assembly hall, and even the trees hold a special place in my heart. A special hello to the neem and Ashoka trees — if you look closely at the Ashoka tree, you might still find an inscription “JJ” which my friend Janani and I carved there. Those little moments are still alive in my memories.
About Me
I am Jeevitha, a 2016 pass-out from this school. Currently, I am working as a Software Developer at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). I completed my B.Tech at SASTRA University. Today, I am a strong and independent woman working in the IT field who loves to travel, support her family, and explore exciting opportunities in life. There is still a lot more for me to achieve.
Some Memories to Share
I first joined this school in KG, then moved to another school for two years, and joined again in 3rd standard. When I rejoined, Shameem mam was my class teacher. One fine day, she asked me to read a Tamil story. I still remember that I read “vaanangal” instead of “vaanarangal”! It all started like that.
I am sure mam hasn’t forgotten the day I told my friend Sumithra that she was very strict — and Sumithra told the same thing to mam! Those are evergreen memories that still make me smile.
From getting scolded to even getting hit on the fingers after assembly for not reciting an essay properly, those were all part of our growing years. I feel lucky to have experienced those moments, though I am not sure if the juniors today get such memories. I am truly grateful to Shameem mam who believed in us and helped shape us.
Golden Days
During my early school days, I was an average student. But when I passed out, I became the school third rank holder, scoring 473/500 in the public examination.
I remember once I was punished and standing outside the classroom. Kavitha mam saw me and asked, “She is a good student and studies well. Why is she standing outside?” That small moment became a turning point for me. Sometimes all we need is someone to believe in our potential.
I learned many life lessons from my teachers — far beyond what was written in the syllabus. I am not sure how many students receive personal guidance and life support from their teachers, but I was fortunate enough to receive it here. During my difficult and confusing days, my teachers supported and guided me. That kind of support is something I have rarely experienced outside school.
There are many more teachers to thank and many more memories to share. But if I start writing all of them, it might turn into a book! So I conclude this write-up with a grateful heart.
Thank you once again for this opportunity. Writing this feels like traveling back in time to my school days.
At last, I would like to say —
Love you, my Swathi School ❤️
You hold some of the most beautiful memories in my heart.
